Summer School ?!?!?!?!?!?!?

No, I'm not talking about actual summer school.. I'm talking about make up days because this kid has only had 8 days of school since December 20th!!!  EIGHT DAYS since mid December.. That is just crazy!!!!  Now, I know 2 weeks was Christmas, New Years &  one was Martin Luther King Day but the other 9 were snow/ cold days!!!  His 1st week back after Christmas Break was cancelled because we got a huge snow storm that literally shut down the city for 3 days and the roads were not back to normal for almost an entire week!  Then when we thought we were back on track after a week of classes he had a short week due to Monday off for Martin Luther King day - little did we know that Friday would also be cancelled.  Friday along with Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday of this week have been cancelled due to this "artic blast" weather we are experiencing.  It a good steady 10 degrees today but, the wind chill makes it negative...  YUCK!!!  I am not going to lie Me, Connor & Zennon have not left the house since Sunday!!  We are staying indoors & warm.

As much as I love having Connor home with Zennon & I - I also don't want him to be in school half the month of June.  LoL :)  Our summer is short enough. They have tossed around ideas about extra assignments coming home with them on Spring Break to help get caught up, not having presidents day off school anymore, Even extending the calamity days for kids this year due to this nasty weather. I'm anxious to see what the final call will be.

After today, the temperature is suppose to go back to our "normal" January temps so, hopefully school will be back in session!

Now, they are calling for another snow, ice storm on Saturday evening. Hoping it doesn't add to his list but, whatever it takes to keep these kids safe - I am on board!!  I just hope they come up with good alternative for making up days rather then spending an extra half month of school..

We have played a lot of WII this week!

We played bowling, baseball, tennis, golf, boxing!  Connor is getting pretty good especially at bowling!  Usually when we play Zennon is only in it for a few minutes then we see this!

Playing his own version on a video game!
Smiling for a picture!!!

I love being trapped in doors with these cuties but, I'm ready to have a different kind of fun.

Mommy & Daddy's Night Out!

Mommy & Daddy had a night out with friends & family!!  Connor's school hosted a Trivia Night so, we paired up into 3 groups ( wives, husbands, and a mix - we had to many to just do husbands and wives)  We had a good time. Categories included Great Lakes, Movie Sound Clips, Sports Mascots, Beer History, Actor/Actress Birth Names, Etc.

The husbands team including Eric got last place!!
With topics such as Beer & Sports.. I expected more.. Lol :)

Here is Eric with the guys and their trophy of candy bars filled inside the popcorn jar!

Friday Night!

Connor so much looks forward to the weekends because as long as he is good he is usually aloud to watch a movie in bed.  He waited all week and was super excited when Friday Night came along.

He usually watches them alone and before Eric or I head up to turn the tv off he is sound asleep.  But this Friday Zennon got his pillow out of his room and was all prepared to watch Shrek with Connor..

After we told them goodnight, tucked them in and headed downstairs I told Eric - when we go upstairs to turn everything off - Zennon will be wide awake and Connor will be sound asleep.

About 1/2 hour later I go to check on them thinking it had been awful quite up there wishful thinking they were both asleep, and this is what I find.  Just as I had said Zennon wide awake watching the movie and Connor just about as asleep as he can be.  Zennon even tried to tell him I was taking a picture, and NOTHING!

So, we made Zennon go to his own room, his own bed and get some sleep of his own.  They had a busy weekend planned - Spending the night with Grandma Sandy & Papa Pat on Saturday Night & Ethan's Party Sunday.

SNOW!!

They said it was going to snow = and SNOW it did!
We were fairly warned, although the news / media made it seem like were getting 100 inches and would be snowed in for months - we did nothing extreme.  However, I cannot say the same for the people around us.  I went to the grocery store Friday evening to get food for the week, lunches for Connor since school goes back this week (or so we thought) and besides seeing more people there than I ever have, they were going nuts buying things they will more than likely never use and end up throwing it out.  There was no lettuce left, only a tiny bit of Milk, barely any bread and eggs - it was crazy, needless to say I got some must needs and got the **** out of there!! I will try again in a few days!
Our snow was suppose to start on Saturday evening about 11:00 pm, we made the most of our Saturday before we would be stuck in the house for a few days or so.  Sunday is snowed, snowed some more and just kept on snowing. It was decently warm so, Eric and I went out to play with the boys since, it was going to get COLD for the next few days!
Here are our fun snow pictures!

 Sledding!
 Me and my boys!!
Hey, the slide was still fun in the snow!
 Daddy & his boys!!

 Look at all the snow!
 Last photo before heading inside!

With all that snow, on Sunday they had cancelled Connor's school for Monday, and by the time we woke up on Monday they had already cancelled his school for Tuesday!  Extended Christmas Vacation for him and more play time with Connor for Zennon and I!!

Eric took this picture today - it doesn't even it do it justice as to about how much snow we have.  At least 10 inches.  Craziness!

Loving on babies!

I was super excited to hear the news that my long time best friend was in labor!  She welcomed her second baby boy on January 2nd.  Weighing in at 7lb 4oz.  Was thrilled to be able to meet this cutie pie the next morning!

And, let me tell you it was hard work to get to see these beautiful eyes!  Loved all my snuggle time, fresh baby smell, and hearing all about her labor!  I'm so proud of you Sara and Clay.  I didn't get to see big brother Jace but, I hear he is a baby hog and loving his baby brother (both which make me smile ear to ear)  Happy Birthday Sweet Baby Liam Carter!  So very much looking forward to watching you grow!

2014

Happy New Years

Overall 2013 was a pretty decent year.  Our big boy officially started Kindergarten, Eric & I took our first trip to Vegas with Uncle Tom & Aunt Lauren (which we loved, and can't wait to go back), Connor ran cross country and did amazing, Eric & I took Connor to his 1st Pro Football game (along with Uncle Tom, Aunt, Lauren, Papa Pat, Grandma Sandy and Uncle Eddie- we saw Green bay), Our godson Zane was born and beat a battle with brain cancer, we got to spend lots of time with our adorable little Zoey.  Spent a long weekend with our family in Cinci - went to the zoo & Kings Island, Eric got his 1st deer hunting, Connor went to his 1st Detroit Tigers game, multiple Mud Hens Games (including a rainy opening day) Walleye game for cousin Josh's birthday, Our annual pig roast was a huge success this year (lots of new faces) Zennon had one heck of a 2nd birthday celebration, Spent a weekend at Great Wolf Lodge waterpark, we all fed a giraffe (if you know me - I could not have asked for more), saw the lights at the zoo, Zennon started talking in more sentences and actually making sense.  Zennon has a few favorite words is in speech including "hot mama" & "please", we met a lot of new friends and most importantly we spent a lot of time with our family & friends and we loved every minute of it:)  Although, I personally had a few struggles to overcome in 2013 it was a pretty great year, I am very much looking forward to 2014.  Eric and I have a few big decisions to make this year and I personally could not be more excited to see what 2014 will bring for our family!!!! Happy New Years!!!!
