Toxin free Thursday

Our Toxin free journey has not been an easy one..

We missed the old products we were use too..

I realized reading labels takes much longer than you would think..

I was fooled by greenwashing MANY times..

It was overwhelming thinking about all the products we were putting in and on our bodies and wanted to ditch everything immediately, it just wasn’t possible.. we took it one item at a time, as we ran out of something we swapped it out for a much healthier item and now about 9 months in.. our house is so much closer to avoiding those nasty ingredients we don’t want in our home!

I can’t wait to share more products and healthier swaps for your home..

My 1st swap I made around the house was dryer balls!  We ditched those dryer sheets filled with nasty ingredients and opted to try dryer sheets out!

A few things I learned...

my clothes dry much faster

we are saving money

you can still have a scent by adding some oils to the ball

give them a try - if you dare... you don't go back!!!

sports no longer rule our family

and for the first time in YEARS I realized it is ok! I am actually happy about it!

now, that doesn't mean my kids don't play sports...they do!

do I want my kids to stay active - YES

do I want them to be a good teammate - YES

will we travel for baseball this season - YES

but, with that said...

I missed spending time with my family. I missed my husband, I missed my boys and I missed my girl.

Covid made us realize we let a few things go and we needed Tham back.We make a point to have dinner together (still hoping that helps the girl actually eat) I look forward to our bedtime routine with the littlest two.

I have learned that with Connor's sports - we can all go - we can all play and practice while he is putting the work in..

We have got a lot more family time lately and its been great for us..

we have had time to travel together, we got a puppy (and took the time to train her properly) we have spent a lot of time on the golf course and we spent 90% of our summer on the water.

Our oldest is 12

I'm not really sure where the time went.. I still remember him being a tiny little baby with his days and nights mixed up.  I remember dropping him off to school for his 1st day of preschool and balling my eyes out.  I remember every Christmas Program, Talent Show, Spring Concert his classes did.  Cheering him on at all the sporting events for every sport he has tried along the way. I am so proud of the young man he is becoming.  He has always been very mature for his age but, has proved it to us once again these last few months..

They say don't blink because the time will be gone before you know it.. and that couldn't be more true.  Tomorrow he is off to Jr. High, 7th grade, in a new school, a new district.  It's a huge change for all of us, but the time is right. He is ready.

We celebrated him this Labor Day Weekend and I'd say be had a pretty amazing birthday!

Love always,

Sweet Melissa

We’re Back!!!!

Wow!!

My last post was in 2018, that makes me sad...

We are back!!! Not sure, I'll ever be able to catch up but, we can start from now!!

I started this blog - back when kids were little so, once they are old enough they can read about all the fun we had, the busy times, the boring time and everything in between - ya know kinda like a scrap book (which I clearly don't have time for)

A lot has changed for us.. some before Covid turned our lives upside down..and some after

I can't wait to tell you all about our new adventure's!!  Our family grew and hopefully growing again don't tell Eric
Our  toxin free journey, home updates, house searching, new schools, new beginnings, fun fashion finds!! Its all coming at you!! ðŸ¥°
